To celebrate Piper’s Birthday we had a Meet Up with some of her doggy friends & as a thank you for coming, I made some dog friendly cupcakes. Here’s how we made them:
For the pupcakes-
- 2 ripe bananas
- 3 eggs
- 170g of dog safe peanut butter (xylitol free)
- 70ml of water
- 70ml of lactose free milk
- 2 tsp of baking powder
- 60ml of olive oil
- 60ml/85g of honey
- 270g of rice flour
For the icing-
- 225g of cream cheese
- 85g of peanut butter
- A drizzle of honey
- Dog biscuits to decorate
Equipment
- A food mixer
- A bowl
- Weighing scales
- Spatula
- A bun tray
- Bun cases
- Piping bag
Method
1. First, preheat the oven to around 250. Put the bananas and eggs into your bowl and mix until they turn into a liquid consistency.
2. Add in the rest of the ingredients needed for the pupcakes and mix together until smooth
3. Line your tray with bun cases. I used the mini size as they’re a more suitable size for a dog treat.
4. Spoon your mixture into the bun cases then place the tray in the oven for around 15-20 minutes. Keep an eye on them to make sure they don’t burn!
5. Once cooked, remove from the oven and allow them to cook fully before icing.
6. To make the icing, mix all the ingredients together with a whisk. Once you have a butter icing consistency, spoon into a piping bag & ice the pupcakes to your desired look. Then, add a few of your dogs favourite biscuits on for decoration.
Thank you for reading & maybe we’ve inspired you to get baking with your pooch? Enjoy!
