Today we visited the picturesque Wolds Way Lavender Farm. It was so peaceful & relaxing, strolling through the fields with the subtle lavender scent. Since we had such a lovely time, we thought we would share our experience with you all.
Admission was really reasonable, I think it was £3 each for an adult. Dogs are welcome, free of charge, but they must stay on the lead. Parking is free.
The farm itself isn’t huge, so is ideal for those wanting a steadier day out. Perfect for families; there’s a play park, a maze & even a miniature light railway!
There’s a lovely nature trail which takes you around the perimeter of the farm, with lots of information about the surrounding wildlife. The trail takes you through a wooded area where you can see lots of different bees & butterflies.
If you’re looking to grab a bite to eat, there’s sure to be something in the on site cafe that takes your fancy. The food was all fresh & delicious, I’d certainly recommend! There was a lovely variety of cakes & ice creams to choose from too! Dogs aren’t allowed in the cafe area, but there was outdoor seating available with doggy water bowls.
There isn’t an abundance of things to do here, but it’s perfect for a steady, laid back Sunday. It was really refreshing to be able to sit, chill & take in the lovely views & smells which the lavender offers. You can have a browse around the nice gift shop, which sells products made with the lavender grown on the farm. There’s also the distillery which you can visit, here you learn how they make the essential oils. I’d say you would probably spend around 2 hours on the farm.
We’ve been searching for a dog friendly lavender farm to visit for a while now, as there are a few others locally which don’t allow dogs. So when we found Wolds Way we couldn’t wait to go.
If you too decide to visit, we hope you have a lovely time!
Thank you,
E & P x
