Today we made a rather impromptu visit to the Me & Mrs Fisher cafe in York. I had heard wonderful things about the food here, so as we were near by we decided to grab a bite to eat. If you know York, it’s the building with the big Bile Beans sign painted on at the end of Lord Mayor’s Walk.
The very first thing which we were offered was a cosy blanket for Piper to sit on. Little touches like these really make you feel welcome. Also, check out the water bowl they gave her, probably the nicest bowl she’s ever drank out of?!

I hadn’t actually realised the cafe was specifically vegetarian/vegan food, which made the whole experience even more inviting for me, as a vegetarian. Being able to choose anything on the menu doesn’t happen very often, but when it does it’s always such a hard decision to make!

The food was soooo tasty! The flavours worked so well together & I really was impressed. I wouldn’t usually choose a “salady” type food, but I was feeling adventurous & I’m glad I did as it really was amazing. The chocolate fudge cake was to die for, I’d highly recommend! There was also a huge variety of scones available, so many different flavours!
Me & Mrs Fisher has such a warm & happy atmosphere, which hit as soon as we walked through the door. The yellow walls were complemented well by the tasteful decor. Personally, I always feel that you enjoy your food more if the cafe is well maintained & decorated nicely- it completes the whole experience! And I think secretly, if we all admit it, there’s nothing better than going somewhere where you can get a good instagram-worthy photo (or two)!
It’s always nice when you find a hidden gem like this. Somewhere relaxed where you can have some lunch with your 4 legged friend by your side. Piper certainly approved!
We really did have a lovely time here, so much so I felt compelled to share with you all. You can follow Me & Mrs Fisher on Facebook & Instagram if like regular updates of tasty looking food.
Thank you!
